A few things about departures

The ship has sailed.

It will not turn against the current

and come back

for one unlucky passenger.

The train has departed.

It will not reverse on the tracks

and back into the station,

even if you hail it again.

The bus has left.

It will not wait for you,

or open its doors for you,

even if it stopped at a red light.

So,

don’t run after the bus -

take the next one;

don’t sob over the train,

get another ticket;

don’t wait for the ship -

it will not come back

and you might as well

set your own sail

to your own adventure.

So,

don’t wait for him,

stop crying over her;

don’t wait for life to happen

just because you missed

one point of departure -

you might as well

set your own sail

to your own adventure.
